Is anyone else having issues accessing certain large websites like Amazon?

I can get the page to open but it doesn’t automatically load my account and doesn’t allow me to do so…

I had heard about the potential cyber attacks from Iran but this is a first for me.

I don't know, but I had a similar occasion recently.

Using a different browser worked for me.

My Amazon app is working fine, as is Amazon.com-I searched for “turtles” and there are an amazing number of products related to turtles.

Last Tuesday, for most of the day, I was not able to access various popular sites. The situation had all the hallmarks of a directed DNS DoS (Domain Name Service Denial of Service) attack against Cloudflare and Google public DNS servers (and maybe others). Since many other DNS servers cache non-resolutions from these well-known and popular authorities, and/or use them as forwarders, the effects cascaded widely.

I do not have definite information that this is what was happening, but that is what it "felt" like, and direct queries to these public servers (e.g. 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, etc.) were very slow to resolve. I was not curious enough to investigate further.

We had issues with Amazon’s site at work today.

Iran struck at three Amazon data centers in the middle east.

The article says the impact is local only, but my daughter (an author) reports that it's impacting sales of e-books in the US.

That might be the source of your woes, too.
