Suggestions for a Team Building / Fun Event in Las Vegas
I'm going to be in Vegas next month with 15-20 of my colleagues for a week-long training event. Our director wants to take us all out one evening to do something fun. I thought about something like Top Golf, but we can do that at home. Do any of you have any suggestions that might fit the bill?

Thanks in advance!

Machine gun rentals?
Track time, I think they have something like that at the drag or Nascar track.
Cirque?

In Vegas I think the only limitation would be the budget. From shows like Cirque, to driving dune buggies in the desert, to a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, the options would be endless. I think they have one of those large equipment experiences out there, where you drive a bulldozer or similar.

You are right though, skip TopGolf. Nearly everyone could do that in their own city. Pick something that not everyone would have access to.

August in Las Vegas is incredibly HOT! Like being in a large oven. The UV index is off the charts and the humidity is single digits (unless the infrequent 'monsoon' occurs, then it's just as hot and humid). Sunburning can take place in minutes, not hours. Also, it does NOT 'cool off' in the evenings. The only time it is bearable to be outside is early, early morning. Locals get their outside stuff done before 10am and then hibernate indoors the rest of the day. I say all this so you don't end up doing something foolish, like picking an outdoor activity during the daytime or early evening when the sun is still up. If you must go out, cover up; sunscreen with an SPF of 70+, long sleeves, pants, brimmed hat, a lot of eye protection, and everything should be in light colors; no black, dark blue, dark brown etc and avoid polyester; cotton is your friend. Even shoes should be closed and light in color.
Drink water; nothing with caffeine (it acts like a diuretic). It's pretty easy to pick out the tourists; they're the ones ill-clothed and looking cooked...

Too many people think going to Vegas will be great this time of your, then they step outside and realize...I'm in a desert.

Not sure what your business is or, the company does but, one of the biggest dot.com companies in the US is headquartered in Las Vegas, Zappos. You can take a tour of the Zappos.com headquarters, which occupies the former LV City Hall. I used to have them as an account and they were always fun, lots of good energy, very easy to work with, many, many events that they would host for vendors. The tours would be good insight for company executives trying to understand e-commerce and customer service. When I worked with them, every tour would end with a shot of your favorite alcohol, I know since the Amazon acquisition, Bezzos & friends have been trying to mellow them out.

Battlefield Vegas does vehicle rentals, tank and artillery shooting even flame throwers. If you have a good sized budget the sky is the limit (yes helicopter door guns).

I'm assuming you want something fun , and not touring a work related site, or Hoover Dam, etc.

K1 Speed Indoor Go Cart Racing operates in the evenings, and hosts corporate events.

I'm too old to enjoy playing "Find my house without asking directions," so I'd go with the machine guns.

As a 10 year Las Vegan, this is very important for anyone visiting.

Unless your work is heavy equipment, this looks like fun. Pushing dirt around while driving a monster bulldozer

Or machine guns. Even my wife thought it was fun she was shocked a magazine was used up in a few seconds. At least at the gambling tables you have a chance of not blowing the cash so fast.

I’m going with the gun range idea too. I worked for a company for several years where the VP in charge of the Americas was a gun guy, so we did a lot of team building stuff at gun ranges. I’m my experience even anti-gun people had fun. One guy was such a leftist loon he even called his wife to ask if it was okay if he went. After we had shot he was talking to her about letting him get a .22 revolver.

nothing converts like exposure.

Truth.
Once they try it, their tune changes. They might not be as vigorous as before or, they'll bit their lip when the 'shoot them in the leg' urge comes out.

It's very hot outside, so an indoor event would be best. Corporations also may frown on alcohol use.

Options include Keno and/or hookers & blow.

Oh yeah. I can’t tell you how many times people have commented on accurate shooting being a lot harder than they thought.

Our company did an escape room.

We did teams and had prizes for fastest team.

While each team went, we had drinks and snacks and got to watch the team via cameras.
