Check out the rest of the story to complete the picture. This guy has a long arrest record (surprise) and was recently recommended for mental health counseling for violence, but the court turned down the application. Yet another total failure of the system to deal with people like this.

Alls well that ends well. Thank goodness the clown couldn’t have given him more warning signs if he tried.

I’ll bet we don’t see any calls for protest on this one…

I think the "forgot to put the car in park" was the life saver for the LEO.

In my county a disturbed individual charged two officers with a hand axe. Indoors. Mental health wellness check. It did not end well for anyone involved. Officers were not injured, physically.

Napierville, upscale community west of Chicago. That cop had some excellent training. Would like to know more about the mental health check and court proceedings. Was he held on a committment affidavit??

I'm certain that the left in this country, openly villifying the police for a decade and a half, bear no responsibility for the actions of this whack job. Roll Eyes

We used to house the criminally insane in long term treatment facilites. With his record he would seem to have been a candidate.

The old "why he shoot him so many times?"

Ever notice how no one ever seems to bitch about people giving more money, to the cashier, than the total. (shrug)

Or the shoot them in the leg mantra.

Biden says police should be trained to ‘shoot 'em in the leg instead of the heart’

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...-shoot-em-in-the-leg

Joe Biden said Monday that police -- if facing a threat from a person with "a knife or something" -- should be trained to “shoot ‘em in the leg instead of the heart,” amid five straight days of protest following the death of George Floyd.

“Instead of standing there and teaching a cop when there’s an unarmed person coming at ‘em with a knife or something, shoot ‘em in the leg instead of in the heart,” Biden said in an address to black community leaders in Wilmington, Del.

“There are a lot of things that can change,” Biden said, regarding police training.

You guys would be amazed at the number of stupid people who would pull up to me when I had a car stopped. Stopping right next to me was common. Most wanted directions or to bitch about some petty issue that could have waited.
