Oh yes, I have lots of fun when my wife starts searching for shows with the remote and the screen pops up on my ipad asking if I want to use my keyboard for text entry. Then I just start typing random “Dr;sjkbvnslb fgvxiuyblxkhfg .v “ and she freaks out.

Good times! Big Grin

Mental health assessments. Take mental
health assessments often used in clinics to
understand your current risk for depression and
anxiety and if you might benefit from getting
support. You can download a PDF to share with
your doctor and compare your results over time.

What a steaming load of horse shit.

"Apple: For the unstable generation. Mommy loves you."

Get a fucking grip.
I am going to do it. Will report.

Edit - apparently I have minimal risk of being anxious or depressed. It is a load of crap. The questionnaire is “Do you feel bad?” Then it tells you according to your answer if you feel bad or not.

Sounds not unlike some of the questions I get along with my annual wellness checkup.

Essentially:
Q: Are you exhibiting or feeling any of the symptoms of depression?
A: No
Result: You're not suffering from depression

They'd have had to have done something pretty damn outrageous for the iOS/iPadOS Mail app not to work with their servers. "Outrageous" as in "non-standard."

It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft threw commonly-accepted standards out the window in favor of what it felt best-suited its interests, but, it's been a long while since they've been in the habit of doing those things.

Probably what you have to do it go into the more advanced settings and set some things differently that what Apple expects is needed for Microsoft's mail servers.

Near as I can tell from a quick look MSN Mail's using standard ports and protocols for email clients: imaps on port 993 with SSL/TLS enabled and submission on port 587 with SSL/TLS enabled. Same ports and protocols iCloud mail uses, Gmail uses, and all my servers use.

I will look at that, thanks.

I'm not a computer dummy though out of date. I used to do a lot of programming back in the DOS, FORTRAN, 80xx assembly language days.

Microsoft changed from an older protocol to the newer. Using both company's websites I was not able to find the info needed to enter the nitty gritty details. They both said basically to put in your email address and it will automagically configure. Nope. I tried deleting the account from the iPad and it still wouldn't do it. My iMac and iPhone had no issues.

This all cropped up immediately upon updating iOS. The previous version of iOS had properly configured the MSN email domain.

The issue I've encountered is when I hold the phone button while in the car. I have to wait at least twice as long before dictating who I want to call. If I don't, it asks me what it is I want to know about the person I'm trying to call.

I upgraded to it on my 13Pro. All is running well, and it did not appear to "mess" with my settings too much. One thing, however, gripes me. They introduced a new thing called a "contact poster", where you can create your own personal contact picture/emoji/whatever that others will see when you call, and is associated with you everywhere you go. My problem with it is that when you now open any Contact (whether in the Contacts app or on the Phone app), there is this huge "Contact poster template" that occupies the top 2/3 of the screen. You are supposed to use that to guide you in making your new poster. Well, I do not want one, and so far I have not been successful in making that huge template go away. Now when I open a Contact, I have to scroll down a good bit to find the contact's actual information (phone#, address, etc.).

I have followed various online info on how to make it disappear, but so far none of them actually remove the huge template. My new 15Pro comes tomorrow, so perhaps I will have better luck with that one.

The only bad thing I’ve found so far is you can no longer scrub through videos. You have to use the progress bar.

Strange phenomenon...(older) iPad says I have the latest version iOS with 16.x.x. My phone (SE, 2nd Gen), however, just "sits there" when I click UPDATE...always use iTunes to perform these updates, as it backs up my devices to my local hard drive. Maybe the server is too busy...will try later in a few days or so.

How old is "older?" Past a certain point it won't get new major OS updates anymore.

I just upgraded my 2017 9.7 in. iPad to a 2022 iPad Air. Looks like I did that just in the nick of time. The older iPad was still working well, but, after six years I was feeling like it was about time for an upgrade.

I now have it on my phone, I-pad and watch. Works fine on all.
The most obvious change is that all the text is in a thicker, brighter, more easy to read font.
Are they trying to say I'm getting older and my vision needs the extra help?

Wife now reports her I-watch refuses to sync. It’s about 5 years old so who knows what model. So she feels that needs to be replaced. I suggested I don’t have these problems with my analog mechanical watches. Or even my $50 g shock. She was not amused. I told her why do you want to give all your biometrics to them ? You get even more stressed when the watch tells you your heart is racing cause you’re stressed. Get a ladies G shock like our daughter has.
