Today I received a letter in the mail that looked odd. It was a regular mail envelope with everything hand-written in pretty bad writing. I can barely make out what was written in the return address area, but it looks like "RW20 V15." It is addressed to me using my legal name, which I only use on legal documents. Inside was a single piece of paper titled "In GOD we trust" and then it lists the bible verse Deuteronomy 5 (6-21). It was mailed out of Oklahoma City and had a postage stamp applied. I am not a religious person so I am not on any kind of lists or anything. Who would take the time to hand-write the envelope, pay for postage, and mail this to me???? I have tried searching the internet to see if this is something happening, but could not find anything. Very strange. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

That would be the Ten Commandments. So absent your acquaintance with Moses as a pen pal, I would at least perk up my situational awareness ears....

I am very vigilant in my situational awareness because of my line of work, but this definitely has me much more on alert.

I wouldn't worry very much. I was a Fed and hyper vigilant. I got a couple of those. Threw it in a Zip Loc bag and called out the lab. Tested negative for everything. If you have concerns, do the same. If you happen to get another, just contact USPI.

Odd. RW20 V15 sounds like a citation to a book and verse. However, there is no Bible book that abbreviates RW, and I am not able to find a version of the Bible that is abbreviated RW, in the same way that the King James is abbreviated KJV, or the Revised Standard Version; RSV.

Note however, that there are three books of the bible that begin with R; they are Ruth, Romans and Revelation. Only Revelation has a chapter 20.

Revelations Chapter 20, Verse 15 reads as follows:

quote:
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I'd have my wits about me for a bit. I don't know your line of work, but there is a Federal Prison System Transfer Facility in OK City.

Of course, I could be, and I hope to be, in this case, full of shit.

Good luck.

Too bad you are not a member of Congress. They would dust for prints. Maybe USPS tracking will help. LOL

Well you are correct. It is “Rev 20 V15” which makes me think the intended message is what artieS quoted. I compared the letter “e” to other “e” within my mailing address information and it is written the exact same each time.

Looking up Revelations Ch 20; Verse 15, I found.

Revelation 20:15 King James Version (KJV):

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

=====

Revelation 20:15 New International Version (NIV):

15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
