Yeah, I've watched quite a few of those lately, as a reminder.

Rev. A. J. ForsythIf worried about destruction by falling tree, run a rope under tension in the direction of the intended fall line.
Cut from the back side of that line, meaning that if you want the tree to fall at 6 o'clock, cut from 12. If you had a chainsaw, notching and back cutting would make this happen. With your manual saw, a rope with tension goes a long way. Nothing to it but to do it.

Slippery PeteAre you going to rent a stumper to take care of the remaining stump? It is way too much fun. Pulverizing stumps. So satisfying.

parabellumThe stump will remain for the time being.

Tannerite! About 8lbs should do for a 12in oak tree.
Break out your favorite rifle, and have at it.

The
is is hilariously timely. Just last night I was at the Iowa state fair and watched a chain saw carver, carving an eagle.

SIGnifiedMan you can’t live where I do without owning at least three different chainsaws… Trees are freaking weeds here. Currently waiting for January to drop about 20+ of them.
Lots of spare chains and gobs of chain oil. Chaps (non assless variety)and hardhat are mandatory.
