So I saw this for the first time in my life 5 minutes ago. Then I discovered people actually do this on purpose.

I clicked on it thinking I might see boobs. Well, I did. But they were boobs of the “you are an ignorant boob stop doing that” variety.

Yikes. If I saw people doing that near me at any range I would try to have them removed or I would leave.

Am I crazy or are they?

I've never seen it done in person, but it seems popular on YouTube. I think it's a function of the modern competition racegun crowd...the guys with all the outrageous front serrations, comps, and recoil springs so light that they'll barely return a slide into battery under the most ideal of conditions. Nothing I own is going to do that, even if I was juvenile enough to want to try it.

I believe its a way of racking the slide with only 1 hand.
Push gun out fast, recoil spring is so light that the slide lags frame, essentially causing a "air" rack.

Yep that’s it. Looks completely fucking retarded. And not a safe technique. Ugh.

This sounds like a stunt, like the wrist-flick to open or close revolver cylinders, only dumber.

Yeah, seems rather silly. After such, one would need a ‘press check’ anyway, to check if the round made it.

I think I’ll pass.
