I've never seen it done in person, but it seems popular on YouTube. I think it's a function of the modern competition racegun crowd...the guys with all the outrageous front serrations, comps, and recoil springs so light that they'll barely return a slide into battery under the most ideal of conditions. Nothing I own is going to do that, even if I was juvenile enough to want to try it.

I believe its a way of racking the slide with only 1 hand. Push gun out fast, recoil spring is so light that the slide lags frame, essentially causing a "air" rack.
