Lime tree help? (Curled leaves)
For any question, there seems to be someone here with the answer, so here's hoping.

I have a lime tree in a planter. The leaves are frequently curled up crossways like this.

It's hot here, but lime trees grow all through Mexico where it's hotter.

No amount of watering makes it not happen.

Right now I'm watering every day and the tree is nice and green and is growing a lot of limes, and has gotten significantly bigger in the last 6 months.

If I water every 2-3 days, the leaves start to turn brown and curl up lengthwise.

I add the recommended amount of citrus fertilizer every 6-8 weeks.

Is this just normal for lime trees?

Thanks!

I would cut back on the water,to start.

Just guessing, heat?
Do the waves go back to normal when the sun goes down, and curl up when the sun is beating down on them?

Maybe, but Houston isn't any hotter than Mexico, the Florida Keys, or the Caribbean, where lots of lime trees are grown.

If the leaves are curling and but still green not yellow or brown the tree may be getting too much water. Too much water will normally cause them to curl inward. Too little water on my lime tree normally will show up with some browning and the leaves cupping.

Sounds like the consensus is too much water. I'll try deep soak twice a week for a bit and see how it goes.

Thanks, folks!
