Very sorry BBH. Good friends are rare. Especially those that that stay with you for the long haul. It hurts to loose them. All the fond memories will replace the hurt, but won't replace the loss of having them active in your life. Nothing can replace that. Peace friend.

I'm sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I lost my former law enforcement partner/mentor a few weeks ago. I called him every Wednesday since he went into the nursing home.

He was always a positive man who cared about people...he was also a God fearing man who was raised right and raised his daughter and son as he was raised...he always looked past race to be there for the people in his life (I’ll just leave this there)...he went through a lot of trials when his daughter needed a kidney transplant (the whole Chattanooga box car repair RIP track as well as the Diesel repair shop stepped up with offers to donate a kidney as well as very generous financial support)...she is doing well today...a family member who matched was found Smile.
I was in Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga for 13 days with three surgeries to correct the damage from a 1200# box door falling 13 feet on the top of my head...breaking my right hip when all my weight was on it and driving the broken femur 8 inches up into my upper hip...(Thank God for quality hard hats)...Floyd was there almost every single day to check up on me and pray for me and my family...he was the best of the human race...nothing more add...RIP and God bless you and your family. Any railroaders on the forum will understand how stressful an on the job injury can be when covered by the FELA (Federal Employees Liabilities Act ...no Workmen’s Comp coverage for RR workers)...the support my wife and I received from people like Floyd meant the world to us...God bless you and yours as well as my brothers and sisters still working for any railroad.
