If I understand correctly, the "White" group had a permit for their assembly.

The anti group did not.

The City failed to protect the permitted group.

Bring a lawsuit against the City... why would they not prevail?

First, with relation to social media, it's evil and I believe part of what's wrong with this country. All the way from the president to the average citizen. I am not a part of it and never will be. This forum and 2 others are as far as I go.
Violence was what was sought here, plain and simple. By both sides. Doesn't matter to me if you're on the left or the right. This was to start something. And I'll say this too. This is nothing compared to what's coming in 2020.
I was at Allegheny Gun Works when this was happening and they had the TV station on CNN or something like that. I saw both sides of the line and it made me sick.
I watched one African American in mock chains taunting a bunch of people. I watched flags being waved and people screaming at each other. I finally turned my back on the TV and went about my business.
It confuses me a bit. Is the left suppressing the right or the other way around? Honestly, I don't care. If you go to these protests, you're part of the problem and in my mind, the whole lot should have a quarantined area and have at it.
I took an oath in 1986 to combat any enemies foreign or domestic as I'm sure a lot of others have too. This was for my country. I have since switched it to protect me and my own.
I won't be going to any protests but if it's brought to my doorstep, I don't care what color you are, what your religion is or what side you're on, it will be met with what is brought to me.

The MSM is attacking Trump for simply stating that any such attacks, regardless of race, are out of bounds. The MSM is quite vociferously attacking him for not renouncing "white radicals".

Where was the MSM when Obama made basically the exact same statement back when Ferguson erupted? The crooked biased media strikes again.

IMHO... The entire incident was a tragedy stemming from failure to contain a situation that ultimately lead to a fatality and numerous injuries.

Older news, but Ann Coulter scheduled to speak at UC Berkeley. Seems both the college and the city said they couldn't provide Coulter with protection against violent riots, she cancelled. A local college paper op ed commented along the lines "Coulter has the constitutional right of free speech. But oppressed people have the right of violent response, such was the foundation of this nation".
