Zero. Not their modus opperandi.

She may have got "her way", but I'm quite sure she hasn't a clue what "her way" got her.

Amen. NYC was a stupid stupid choice but everyone that I know was happy that Austin was not chosen.

casWay back when it was announced that New York had made the list of possible places for Amazon's new headquarters, I commented that they were in the running, right behind Fallujah and the moon.
Glad to see I wasn't wrong after all.

Not
NYC invited, nay, offered big bucks for Amazon to come to their little slice of heaven. Occasional-Cortex and her band of freeloaders didn't beat Bezos, they beat the morons that offered Amazon huge incentives to come to NYC.
Bezos is too busy getting busy with his new main squeeze, hunting down rogue journalists and trying to economize now that he is down to his last $50 billion. Frankly my dear Alexa, he don't give damn. He has 18 other cities ready to drop their drawers for HQ1.5.
Let me help you out. Which way did you come in? February 14, 2019, 08:00 PM

There are folks in the area whose rent was jacked up already by landlords taking advantage of the anticipated competition for housing. It really sucks for them but they’ll still keep voting for the same people so perhaps to some extent they deserve it.

FredwardShe and many others actually believe NYC saved 3 billion dollars by this decision. How do you not understand what "tax incentive" means?

I think you have to get an economics degree from a liberal university!
AOC said she wants the $2.7 billion that Amazon is not getting to be used fixing the existing subway system. She doesn't connect that to the $27 billion in taxes that Amazon was going generate.....

Not that I agree with anything she says, but how many billions in taxes has Amazon cost us?
As far as I'm concerned her and Amazon are in the same boat of things that are bad for this nation.

"We do not intend to reopen the HQ2 search at this time," Amazon said Thursday.
"We will proceed as planned in Northern Virginia and Nashville, and we will continue to hire and grow across our 17 corporate offices and tech hubs in the US and Canada."

Not sure what you are getting at. Are you talking about Amazon not collecting sales tax in some areas? Or are you talking about the tax cost of Amazon driving out small businesses? Or are you talking about the so-called low wages not being high enough and that the employer payroll taxes on those earners being artificially depressed? Or is it some form of all of that.
I would hazard a guess that amazons payroll taxes, sales taxes are massive generators compared to any percieved loss.
