My wife wants a new set of headphones & want over the ear type, Bluetooth.
Doesn't really want to pay Apple prices for their option.

Thinking Bose, Beats price ranges.

Any specific models or other brands to consider?

I've owned AKG wired headphones and they were great. They are well known in the field. Can't vouch for their wireless sets, but I'd guess they are good.

My son and I are very happy with our Bose NC700's. Fantastic sound quality!

I've actually taken to falling asleep with them at night. And they're noice cancelling and drown out screaming babies on plane flights.

Yes?
Partly for drowning out the cube farm at work, audio books, music, long flights.
She's not an audiophile, so don't need anything too crazy. She liked the Apple option, just not the cost.

I love my Bose QC quiet comfort headphones.
I upgraded from my older Bose so I can’t really speak to other brands.

I have had a set of Sony wireless, noise cancelling headphones for a number of years. Well made and sound great. I also use them for mowing and they work well in that application also. Price wise about in the middle between Beats and Bose. Sony WH-1000XM5

I love my Beats Studio Pro’s.

They’re Apple compatible with Spacial audio at a much lower price. Great noise cancellation as well as “transparency” mode that lets you listen to ambient sounds and input without being muffled.

Can use wired with USB-C for lossless audio, but even BT sounds great.

I just got the Soundcore Q20i this week. Are they the top end Bose/Sony/Apple. No. But I am impressed with them. The Q30 is supposed to be a little better in every metric and are just a little bit more. I’d go that route. The NC on the Q20i was not bad - not as good as my assistants’ Bose and Apple but I only paid $45.

AND…they have free 30 day replacement if she doesn’t like them.

Not fashionable by any means but they work pretty good for a reasonable price.

I've got the Soundcore Q20i that BB61 has. For what I paid, I am absolutely happy with them. They connect easily and allow me to sit at a very crowded VA hospital in comfort (IE, not having to listen to everyone else's shitty music played through a phone speaker).

Also took them on a flight to Austin last month and the noise control was very efficient, especially since I fly with ear plugs in.

Good luck finding what is needed.

I also like the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. Very comfortable, nice audio with good battery life. The noise cancelling is a relief when wearing them on a flight.

Buy once, cry once.

Besides superior audio quality, lightness, noise cancellation, and hearing correction, there’s also the wonderful benefit of using the AirPods Pro for long phone calls.

Bose is constantly sending me deals by email if you sign up to their newsletter.

Often refurbished stuff. I can't tell from new.

Bose deal of the day 50% off headphones plus 10% first purchase.
