Yep, $600,000 to deal with destructive law breakers.

Why should law abiding citizens bear the cost?
To minimize future unlawful actions, fines, restitution, and/or jail to cover incurred cost. At least their parents might try some parenting since they will probably foot the bill.

Can we bankrupt the UC system for sticking up for free speech? That'd be one way to get rid of the liberal CA education system. Talk them to death!

How does Ben know it cost $600k for police protection? Was Ben forced to pay the police to do their job, or did Berzerkley have to foot the bill?

Well, the protestors are certainly a group of well reasoned, educated people, with clear evidence of racism and specific quotes and actions to protest Roll Eyes

It's pretty clear they are protesting because they're either stoned, or it's what everyone else has convinced them to do.

Understanding the Law, Politics and Impact of Islamophobia
Wednesday, September 27, 2017 - 5:30pm
Louis Riethmann Jr. Pavilion

CLE credit will be offered for this talk by Khaled A. Beydoun.

Sponsored by the SLU LAW Office of Diversity and Inclusion Education

Khaled A. Beydoun is a leading scholar on Islamophobia, national security and anti-terrorism law, and civil liberties. He serves as an associate professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is senior affiliated faculty at the University of California-Berkeley Islamophobia Research & Documentation Project. A critical race theorist, Professor Beydoun's research has been published in top law journals, and his book, American Islamophobia: The Roots and the Rise of Fear, will be published by the Univ. of California Press in 2018.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

New speech by Shapiro tonight (10/18) at U of Tennessee. I've not heard it yet, but earlier today he was saying it would be different from his recent previous speeches. He starts at about 25:30.
