Like many, I've been distracted by the drama in DC during the past week(s), but I don't think that the passing of a great man should be overshadowed by such events.

MG(R) Sidney Shachnow died last week. He is one of a handful of soldiers I've met who survived as a boy in WWII Europe and found a home in the U.S. Army. His story is more remarkable than most and can be found on Wiki. He was a great leader and a role model for many soldiers.
