Para, that’s the reason this is the best!! Your gord has to be full with the job and patrolling you do everyday to keep your forum simply top-notch. You are a good, fair person. I know this by the way you help me when I’m out of line, it helps me grow up.

Thank you sir!

Ps. Even if I’m ever banned, rest assured I will still be watching, reading & learning. The best!

Succinctly put.
Para-- I read that post and heard a man who is fed up with how things are ( as am I) and frustrated that he can not do what needs doing to rectify it (as am I). Your remorse goes above and beyond. I remain pleased that you are in control of yourself and this forum; which is the best one I am involved with.

We've all done the same or worse at times and mostly without publicly expressing contrition.
Nice to see such a good example set although that probably wasn't the point.

I know you work very hard keeping the forum on track, and for free, so you deserve some slack. However there are times I think you have too heavy a hand. Primary example comes to mind:

Prior to the mid term election I mentioned we could make a list and try to determine which states are voting red, and which blue, and which are red but are the most likely to have the election stolen. This is not defeatism, it is knowing your enemy, anticipating their next moves, and developing long term strategies to stop the steal.

Like you I am exceedingly concerned about the state of our nation, and it is on my mind 24/7. I do my very best educate the confused minds of the sheep here in California.

Listen, I posted this because I felt it needed to be said. I didn't post this so you could take a shot at me for some unrelated issue. Not to mention, you did not even actually state what I did or said, or what you felt I did wrong, at least not in a way that I can fully comprehend your gripe.

When you've walked a mile in my shoes- when you've had the responsibility of making even a few of the tens of thousands of individual decisions- big and small and everything in between- that I've made over more than two decades- then you can criticize me and call me heavy-handed because you didn't get your way with something in the past.

I created this thread to address a specific incident. Everyone who has responded to my post has been kind and understanding and addressed the issue at hand, yet you use this thread to take a shot at me and if you think I'm going to put up with shit like that, you've got another thing coming.

If you've got a bone to pick with me because you've just finished up a week on Moderated Status, then have the balls to come out and say it in a direct fashion.

I remember last year when Rob organized the effort to help you out, he and I were chatting back and forth via email. I recall telling him something like "I don't always agree with Para or what he does, but he's a good man, runs a great forum and does a lot for us. He cares. I am happy to help him."

My opinion has not changed. In fact, your apology reinforces my thoughts. You're human. We all have our moments.

The Sig Forum is a terrific placed for exchanging information and ideas. The Lounge is a place I go every day and has such a variety of discussions. The civility is a core value here. If someone's hair stands on end occasionally we can handle it. Frustration over the current America is normal with liberals and worse progressives striping our rights.

I agree. This among other things I've seen is what garners my admiration and respect for Para as a moderator and as a person.

And it's not the wife beater syndrome that's a cycle of bad behavior followed by apology. But the mistakes are out of norm and the admission and apologies are so forthcoming.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

FWIW, the true measure of a man is not how they fall down - it's how they get up again.

You're alright Para.

I have no idea of the referenced post, but it takes courage to make amends.
