Sweet! Good on you. I'm interested to see how this turns out.

I think you mean the US Postal Inspectors. They're the federal law enforcement agency that investigates mail-related crimes. https://www.uspis.gov/

US Postal Police are uniformed security police with limited law enforcement authority who provide security at some of the larger USPS facilities. They don't take law enforcement action off USPS property.

I ended up back at the reseller's house last night with two Sheriff's deputies. Those two were actually interested in solving crime, took interest, and did an outstanding job.

Mirandized the reseller, interviewed him for 30 minutes, and took a statement. He rolled on the other parties involved, and returned several thousand dollars worth of antique locks which were taken. Just a small percentage, but a start none the less.

They have enough to pursue felony possession of stolen goods with him. He has also agreed to meet me with the police on the Illinois side (if we can ever get them to do anything) to provide the same information, firsthand as a witness and involved party, to them.

Wow! Good for you, a1abdj.
You made a difference.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Oh, I'm just getting started in my law enforcement career. Wink

I have a local elected official that also requires some legal intervention. I may make a post about that separately, but may be seeking out the assistance of an attorney that has experience with dual conflicting offices, quo warranto procedures, and similar.

Partially. I have a few thousand dollars worth of items out of a $100,000 plus theft, not to mention all of the property damage.

It's a good start, but I'm still pushing it to get as much as possible.
