PHPaulYard work season has arrived in Maine

All my flowerbeds have landscaping block borders. The extra heat stored in the block makes the grass around them grow much sooner than the rest of the lawn.
I grabbed the string trimmer and whacked it all back, but that'll be a weekly - if not bi-weekly - task soon.
Just a note for 2 stroke yard equipment owners: I've been using Opti II synthetic 2 stroke oil mixed with E-10 ethanol gas for several years now and I don't bother to drain my equipment or run it dry in the Fall and it never fails to start right up in the Spring. Works well in my chain saws too.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

ridewvYeah I had to trim and mow weeds for the first time Wednesday. Seems like the weeds around stuff always grow faster than the ones in the yard that can be mowed.

old rugged crossi use VP or Husky fuel. Works great in all my stihl equip.
I hate yard work. Another reason to hate summer along with the heat and long days.

HRKGot rid of the two stroke stuff long ago and went E-Lectric, no fuel to store, no additives, draining the tank or carb is nice.
Of all the things going electric, lawn tools are probably one of the best fit items out there.
Used neighbors Ego walk behind mower the other day since I couldn't get the JD out due to the truck up on jacks blocking it. It worked really well and did a bang up job, no gas, no oil, just click and cut....
oh it's been yard work season all year here, every year, all the time... LOL

rtquigFor the last 3 days I have been cutting back tree branches, thatched and mowed the lawn. After this lunch break I'm heading to Home Depot to get a bag of weed and feed.
All winter I looked at the tree branches that were creeping close to the house wanting to cut them back before the leaves came out. No leaves yet but a lot of buds.

I did that one time, it killed many weeds but made the grass grow like crazy. And it was surprisingly expensive as I recall. Since then I'm back to just mowing what grows.

Green grass and high tides!

We had a storm come through last night... a tornado warning and 65-70 mph winds.
Today, after picking up some downed branches, it's all green grass!

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I get the little bottles and mix up just a gallon at a time for the saws and the trimmer.
I needed to take down a couple of trees just yesterday to make some room for my new ham antenna and got out one of my saws that I haven't run for probably 5-6 years (at least). Still had some gas left in it, so choke out, a few pumps of the trigger, and fired right up after three pulls. I think mixed gas negates the ethanol issues to some extent as I never have a problem starting the trimmer either after it having sat all winter.

GeorgeairThey don't sell Roundup up there?
For less frequent users, that VP premixed stuff is awesome and convenient.
