How about compensating drivers who are intimidated into paying off these "squeegee kids" (AKA thugs)? For those who haven't been paying attention, these are groups of "youths" who surround stopped cars at traffic lights and stop signs, pounding on the hood, fenders, and roof demanding money. The whole squeegee myth is nothing but cover for their aggression and intimidation.

Let me get this right-
They're going to pay $375 a month for NOT shooting someone, then going to pay extra if they're NOT hanging out with a squeegee on the corner acting like a dickhead.
All the extra effort is tap out a couple résumés and hit a job interview or two (not actually GET the job, mind you) and meet up with a "life coach"?

Depending on how much $ I'm making actually squeegee-ing Windows, this might be worth it.

What they’re really offering to pay them for is not getting caught for shooting someone. Those savages aren’t going to stop for a paltry $375 monthly. The non-fatal shooting clearance rate in B’more is about 26%. For fatal shootings, not much better at around 41% (both 2021 figures).

Not bad odds for an enterprising young thug to make a little extra free scratch.

Has to be in addition to Section 8, EBT, free healthcare, free phones, Internet and half priced Amazon Prime.
