Rule #1 of the 4th of July is always "Make sure you end the day with the same amount of fingers you started it with..."

In this case, I guess we should add "and hair".

I've seen Mr Darwin's work like this multiple times.

About 4 years ago was the genius who looked into the mortar tube. You can guess what the last thing that went through his mind was.

Should Hanna-Barbera be paying reparations?

I help my friend shoot off a bunch of fireworks every year. Last year we had one of the mortars fail. The lifting charge failed to go off and then the deploying charge went off with the mortar still in the tube. The explosion blew the hell out of it, destroying the PVC tube and the wooden 2x4 frame it was mounted to, breaking one section of 2x4 completely in half.

No one was injured because we light and move, and move some more, but the point is, sometimes things go wrong and fireworks can be deadly even before adding stupidity and alcohol to the mix.

no, HB did not do the Coyote

when I was a youngman, my brother and I were setting of bottle rockets etc, (as well as lighting of a small cannon he has)

some jumbo bottle rocket, went up 23-30 feet, and then stalled a split second, and took off horizontal up in the woods,

made it about 150 yrds before it hit the hill on the other side of the creek and sputtered out,

no bang, or other fuckery, just sputtered out
