I'll be on the bus for 12 hours tonight until 07:00. It's supposed to rain so that will keep some people closer to home and inside.

So who else will be sucking up that holiday pay?

I’ve got the best of both worlds. I worked 5 hours today and am not working tonight or tomorrow but I am getting paid full days for both since I am on the road and I get a 10 hour minimum for any day I am away from home.

I’ve got a room overlooking the strip in Vegas. I’m looking forward to having a few drinks in my room and watching football followed by watching the action below.

I’m on call, only have to go in for things like a homicide or officer involved situation or other big things. Fingers crossed…but I completely expect to get called in tonight.

Salaried now…so no extra dough.

Even when I was hourly, working EMS and PD, no place I ever worked gave holiday premiums.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Just got off a 12 hour shift.

This week I have 40hr reg, 20hr OT, 16hr of holiday pay, 12hr holiday worked pay (1.5x) check is going to be very nice. Plus I will be getting 21.5hrs of time off within the next 30 days for compensation for working holidays.

My paycheck is going to be well over 2x the normal amount for this week. Probably the biggest one I have gotten that didn't include bonus. Also got a small $100 post tax bonus for something else I did at work to increase efficiency.

I bought new kitchen countertops and will be able to pay for half of them with the extra money from this paycheck.

First year on days, so I'm not working through midnight, but I worked a 12 yesterday, today, and have another one tomorrow. I'm hoping tomorrow goes like today, and not like Friday!

Not me; I retired yesterday after 32 years.
But really, it doesn't seem like it yet; it's Saturday, and Monday is a holiday (observed), so it likely won't seem real til Tuesday.

Kudos to all working tonight or on any holiday. I am on-call for the full weekend every 5 weeks, but I got lucky this Christmas and New Year to not be on-call. I have done plenty of my holiday weekends so hats off to those working.
