SSD no doubt..until a better tech comes along. It can even breath new life in to really old computers.

SSD. We consider that one of the top bang-for-buck parts to make new computers fast. However, I’m not sure about the 1TB vs 512GB. Apple generally overcharges for storage upgrades, and 512GB is a reasonable size for anyone who doesn’t do professional videos or photography...or who has a big library of games installed! If you do need bulk storage, an external hard drive is a much cheaper way to get it, and you can get it from any computer seller so you don’t have to pay Apple prices. The things that benefit from being on an SSD are generally program files, not media. Pictures and video dont benefit much from being on super-fast storage unless you are doing video editing, and even then it is only sometimes. - Bret

My iMac is a 2012 that I have an older 1T spindle drive as well as a 1T SSD hooked to it. The spindle drive is for 30 min backups and SSD is where I keep all my photos. "All warfare is based on deception" Sun Tzu, The art of War
