Steve 22XJust returned from NRA meeting in Dallas
First stop was to pick up our Benefactor ribbons.
Breezed through the show and only stopped to scrutinize exhibits of interest as well as to pick up some show swag.
Bought a couple of Trump punisher T-Shirts and a flashlight..
Contrary to reports on the radio that it would take days to see everything, we were able to cover the entire show in less than 5 hours.
Got to handle a P365 for the first time and will likely be getting one in the future once the supply catches up with demand.
No protesters in the early morning but as we were leaving five protesters were outside.
Four young girls with signs and one male holding an American flag.
The rain hopefully kept them as miserable as they appeared to be.
Overall a good experience.

Benefactor ribbons? Please enlighten me. I'm a Benefactor.
You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Go to registration and show them you are a Benefactor, Patron, Endowment or Life member and they will give you a ribbon indicating the level you are at.
They have some tape to attach it to the show ID badge.

Ah, got it. I thought it might be something to add to the lapel pin.

oddballCan't go

I have SO much on my plate, time is a rare commodity nowadays. And I live in the area.
This forum is the only connection I have with firearms now, haven't shot or even looked at any of my guns in eons. More mundane things like furniture deliveries, flooring companies, painting contractors, etc is taking up my time. And I realize how rare it is to have a national meeting less than 30 minutes away.

Il Cattivo^^ Not to worry. The Original Fort Worth Gun Show at Will Rogers Hall is much better, at least in my experience.

dusty3030Spent a good chunk of day at ILA leadership forum.
Ollie North did the invocation. Pence was awesome as was President Trump. Stephen Willeford's speech was very moving as well.
Colt had a retro XM177 that is being released that was nice. Handled the Ruger GP100 match champion 10mm and that will be my next gun purchase no doubt. Dan Wesson has a new 1911 the ECP that was friggin awesome for a carry gun.

rscalzoHere's the happy group. what a bunch of losers. They look like they are pissed about missing the 4pm brunch down the street.
The media probably claimed there were several hundreds. Amazed how many show when someone isn't paying them to come out and protest.

From the orange hair, I'd assume it was supposed to represent Trump.
This is the Texas equivalent of 1000 protesters.

RHINOWSOYeah, the MSM learned to count protesters just like the Taliban learned to count their fighters.
1 = 15
5 = 200
10 = 500
13 = 1000
25 = 5000

Those losers were in a different location than the five I saw.
It looks like the geriatric contingency didn't coordinate with the punks prior to the protest.
Using the MSM scale RHINIWSO posted above, it looks like 11 is close enough to 13 to call it 1000 protesters.
Also noted that local CBS news was (mis)reporting yesterday morning that no firearms would be allowed anywhere at the convention center.
This was total BS as there was no security check anywhere other than the Arena where the POTUS and VP spoke.

Too much hair, not enough forehead, and not enough sanctimonious expression on the face to be Jim Wright.
