A Little Help From The SigForum Android Brain Trust. Cannot Connect To Bluetooth With a Pixel2 XL
I have a Google Pixel2 XL that will not connect to anything bluetooth but my car. My wife bought me a new pair of Bang and Olefson E8 bluetooth headphones but I cannot connect to them. FYI I cannot connect to a Bose bluetooth speaker. When I try to pair the device I go to Settings->Connected Devices->Pair New Device and let it find the headphones (same with Bose Speaker) tap it and it will not hook up with the selected device? Am I missing a step here?

Oh, the phone keeps searching and searching for another device. It will not let me tap the head phone or Bose device it found. It just keeps searching.

It won't find any Bluetooth object that is not in pairing mode or at Bluetooth object that is paired with something else.

I have same phone.

It already found the device because it appears in the list of available devices. When I tap on the device it won't connect. I have to be doing something wrong? It seems to keep searching for phantom devices.

You might look into clearing the bluetooth app cache. You may have to resync the car after doing that.

Are you using "fast pair"?

Make sure your phone has the latest and greatest updates.

Then I would try turning off Bluetooth, and restarting the phone.
Turn Bluetooth on, and make sure your phone is set to "discoverable".

Try to pair at that point.

That advice worked for the Bose speaker but headphones are still a no go. Thanks for the input Beancooker.
