I’m feeling slightly old and grumpy tonight. I really liked the kids dressing up for the night. Sighhhhh. Life goes on. __________________________

We are hiding from trick or treaters this year. It's too cold outside to open the door so much. I put the candy on the porch in a bowl. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Don't worry about feeling old. My friends are posting HS graduation pics and we are talking about when to have kids... I'm going to be that guy someone says "nice of you to bring your grandchild to xyz." Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Boo! I’m in AF. We’re having a blast but then I have a spider theme front porch (turned off early on for the littles). __________________________

Was ready with candy but no one came tonight. Not that unusual on my street. There are kids but very few seem to roam looking for treats on Hallowe'en. Of course, it's possible that the neighborhood decided to do it some other night and I (with no kids) didn't get the word. It's happened before. And some parents drive their kids somewhere else to celebrate. (My church hosts a "Trunk or Treat" affair for its young members (and kids from the area)--it was last Saturday afternoon. So I'm left with a bowl full of candy. I'm Diabetic, so it will take me a long time to get rid of it myself (I can only have a few pieces a day.) flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Serenity now! |
This is our first Halloween in Highland, and even though we see thousands of kids in the neighborhood, we only got about 5 trick or treaters this year. Must be the cold. Or the word was out that we were giving out the cheap stuff. Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

I'm rather rural, so we never get many. Tonight we got exactly 3, all nieces and nephews from the same family. Made my night because we loaded them up and the smiles that were created were wonderful. It’s really slow tonight. We are shutting down in 6 minutes. It’s a little cold for Happy Valley South. I’m from Happy Valley North and this would be great TT weather when I was a kid. __________________________

Wait, what? |
My kids are evolving to the next stage, following in my footsteps- terrorizing kids. Having the hell scared out of me are some of my fondest Halloween memories...paying it forward. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

On the other end of the spectrum, this was our one and only grandchild’s first year trick-or-treating, at one and a half. It was clearly done for the parents, our daughter and son-in-law, who are as smitten with Her Highness’ adorability as are we. We quickly learned to avoid the scary houses. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

lol Is there a Halloween Scrooge? If not, I volunteer!!! We put the bowl out with the porch light on and not one child came. We usually get 50 or so. I didn't even hear kids on the street. I think this is how Halloween would be if it were observed in January. It is just too cold right now. What to do with all of this candy......... You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

I actually like it but my wife hates it. We never know how many little beggars we are going to have. Last 3 or 4 years it was over 100 but before it was less than 10 for a couple of years. Last night we had 2. I live on a cul-de-sac and we were the only ones that had our lights on and I guess they didn't want to walk down that far for only one house. Now what to do with all that leftover candy. *s* "Even if the world were perfect it wouldn't be." ... Yogi Berra
