I have an old floppy beat up thrift shop special that is not great and I'm actually starting to get a lot of stingers as my 10 year old is learning to be a pitcher and he's getting good at pitching harder and harder. I noticed that the head coach of my 8 year old's team uses a first baseman glove and I approached him about gloves and what I should get for catch with my boys and he recommended that one. Told me since it's bigger and more of a "scoop" it makes it easier to catch errant throws and also can double as a catchers mitt of sorts when needed. So I ordered this Rawlings model, it's not a top of the line glove but I don't need to be spending $400 on a glove for playing backyard catch and practice: I guess I should have done this way sooner and not 2/3 through the season but my 10 year old indicated he wants to do fall ball this year and not soccer. I think that's his sport anyway really, he's far better at it and gets way more playing time than soccer. Now I gotta break this in!

Nice! I love my husband‘s old glove. It catches everything, and if I’m playing ball with my boy in the backyard, I want that one. Of course I also tell him I will not move, so he better put it in the glove, otherwise he’s gonna go fetch. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

I just gave my old Rawlings to a grand son. I bought it back in 67 for 75 bucks. Yeah, a weeks pay, but it did me well. Bob I am no expert, but think I am sometimes.

That looks like the same model I have in lefty. It's served me well for years. "We're all travelers in this world. From the sweet grass to the packing house. Birth 'til death. We travel between the eternities."
