Today Is Roxy's 28th Hatchday
I've had her HALF my life.

I was so young when I got her and knew NOTHING about having a pet, much less a lifelong companion. She learned my language and I, in turn had to learn hers.

She chose me to be hers. We were at a bird show getting my brother some supplies when something grabbed my shirt through the cage bars and wouldn't let go. No matter what that little claw would not release me. I finally let her out of her cage and right down my shirt she went.

So a check for $1400 later we are driving home.

I remember the day I brought her home all those years ago. She sat on my arm as I drove looking at the cars and would flip her crest up at the passengers and make them laugh.

When she's frightened, she calls me by name knowing I will come and protect her.

Her vocabulary is extensive and she assembles the words into phrases correctly to communicate what she wants.



And 28 years later she is as beautiful as ever and I'm just old now.
