I remember seeing that episode a few years ago, again, for the first time since the original airing in 1984. This time, this scene really caught my eye because I had gone through pistol training. I realized this guy was not just an actor, but really knew what he was doing.

I dunno. I'm a Fudd ( I guess and I hate that term ) and it's the only way I carry.

That episode, "Calderone's Return Part 1" AKA "Hit List" from Season 1, aired 40 years ago. Since then, I keep waiting to see something equally as cool from any of the shows on network TV, cable, and now streaming, but it hasn't happened yet. How can that be?

What is a Fudd? I’m assuming it’s a reference to Elmer Fudd, but I don’t get it?

I mean who doesn't want a gun pointing at their dick/balls/femoral at all times?
I think it's absolutely 100% asinine but I'm not gonna stop you from doing it.

Exactly, it's a reference to Elmer Fudd, a bumbling idiot who used his gun for hunting. Fudds are morons who really care about nothing else in the firearm world as long as they have their old fashioned hunting rifles. Look up Jim Zumbo, the Fudd poster child.

I thought Fudds were anybody older than 55 with closed minds. I don't own any hunting rifles. Maybe I'm not a Fudd then.

When it comes to Hollywood portraying gun handling skills, one of my favorites is the "Yo, Homie! Is that my briefcase"? scene from Collateral.

I am safety conscious, adhere to Cooper's four rules and am 15 years north of 55. Perhaps I am a Fudd.
I believe that when a person makes the decision to carry, they land on the carry option that best suits their needs. Appendix is one option and if it works you you, and you train with it, then all is good.
Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

And both were from Michael Mann.

I know a lot of 25 to 40 year old fudds. They only care about hunting. They also go nuts when I ask what they are going to do when they go after sniper rifles(hunting rifles with scopes)

If you noticed in the film clip, he ejected the magazine and cleared the gun which of course no real killer would likely do. If I remember correctly there was an article years ago that explained that he was so fast and so trained as an IPSC shooter that he simply couldn't stop doing so and after several retakes they just decided to go with it. That is xxxx fast and the ultimate proof of the saying " as you train so will you do".
