Looks more like a Springer episode than a beauty pageant.

“Sri Lankans are good people,” she said. “It’s just a fight — fights happen, kids fight. That happens in any culture, any nationality, it doesn’t have to be Sri Lankans. We’re not that type of people.”

Yes, the Amish are always at it....
At my high school reunion this weekend, we had at least three fights break out....LOL

If we stick to insisting on them becoming Americans, and kick out the ones who cannot meet that standard, we can process lots of degenerate cultures.

We processed much of the English Aristocratic immigrants into decent people, and they were one of the most degenerate cultures I can think of - it spawned black ghetto culture/Deep Southern culture, but people seem to finally be escaping that as well.

The Irish and Southern Italians are also mostly civilized these days.

The Han are about the only real danger. Their F1 seems to suddenly want to be Chinese again, when none of their parents fled PRC for economic opportunities. (Plenty there/SE Asia if all they want to do is make money.)

Islam is a danger, but if prevented from establishing self-ruling ghettos, I think it fails.

I think it’s a faith which recruits the broken animals, by appealing to every vile impulse, and then relies on them subjugating a population.

At one time, every knee bent to idols of the Roman Emperor as well.

Pageants at the level are all about politics (not dem vs repub kind) and connections. The ones who win are backed by money and family connections. It’s also a money maker for organizers.

The condescension is actually dripping: “typical of village people.”

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

They take their pageants seriously. A brawl broke out last year at a Sri Lanka contest as well.

So, "mostly peaceful" serial brawlers? Nice people. Also nice to know that the US isn't the only place in the world with a ghetto culture.

What was the focus of contention?
Irons versus red dots on carry pistols?

The irony is WHERE, the after-party was. Staten Island, the landfill boro! On a "glitz" Level, it is a 2.5 on a scale of 10.0. It is a huge step up vs Sri Lanka, however.

Well, there are precedents for this brawl. Yep, more than one...

Here is Ozzyman doing his very NSFW review of a brawl in the Sri Lanka Parliament.

Maybe a brawl is a traditional part of the pageant?

This is the typical behavior of village Sri Lankans,” a social-media user wrote of Friday’s kerfuffle, according to the South China Morning Post. “Every event ends up in a brawl.

“From elders to children to women. They hit at each other with plastic chairs, umbrellas. It’s quite exciting to watch.”

Who what’ve thought..
