What brands of footwear hit it for you?
I dont mean Johnny come lately, anything you can find. I mean historically, what brands have you been loyal to? What works for casual, work and such. I've been as faithful as money allows to Reebok walking shoes. Even wore them for racquetball and I could chase that ball for hours. Great work out. When I can, I will buy 3 new pair because Reeboks are perfect for my feet. On to the boots I so love, Chippewa Arroyos. Nicest damn boot I've never worn. Have no actual experience with them and I still want 3 or 4 pair. Chippewa, bought out by Justin, closed the doors due to the china virus, really sucks. Big money investor owned now and they make nothing. What they have made in china, they can keep. And there they are, Reebok and Chippewa. The only footwear I will remain loyal too. Whats on your feet that you've stayed with.

Honestly- I look at the country where they were manufactured. If it says China, I look elsewhere.

My Redwing work boots were made in Vietnam. (probably by a Chinese owned company)

Since retirement, I’ve stuck with sandals and flip flops. Before that, I started with Rocky boots until they went to China. Then Redwings, followed by Chippewa, and last Keen boots. They don’t last long, but give my arthritic feet the room they need.
Sneakers, whatever feels good.

American made Red Wings. I have 3 pairs. 2 are safety toe work boots and the 3rd are Chelsea.

+1 for the Merrell hiking shoes. I bought a pair a couple of years back and they have held up better than any other brand I've owned.

If I have to buy them myself, I'll go for Ariats and Tod's.

If I need a pair for some store displays, I can get a some Gucci flip flops or buffalo hide moccasins anytime.

Haven't bought a pair of running shoes in a long time.

Asolo boots. I have been wearing a pair of their boots since the mid 90s. I wear out a pair after 3-4 years, and get another. I currently have 3 pairs of the same style boot I switch between, for working, or ranch work, etc. They just work for me.

I don’t think I’ve worn dress shoes since my last wedding.

Fwiw- the best dress shoe I ever owned were these; Oliver Sweeney. Wife bought ‘em mail order and they fit perfectly from day one. No other shoes in my life did that.

Duty boots:Bates wore them in the service too, USGI boots/boondockers absolutely suck

Flops: Reef

Running/sneakers: Merrell

Casual: Sperry topsiders

Cowboy boots: Ariat- I’ve only ever had one pair and these regular old brown boots are as comfortable as can be. When I went to buy them I asked the guy what or how they should fit..he said, go try on every pair-you’ll know…he was right

Since I’ve retired, I find myself expanding and finding other footwear..I have a pair of Blundstone for winter and I usually wear topsiders or flipflops everywhere

My maternal grandmother told me once “always buy the best shoes you can afford” when I was a little boy. After dragging across this earth for half a century, I understand. What broke me? GI issued dress uniform shoes…they are the worst, most uncomfortable bastards! I have one pair of dress shoes for funerals and I got them at the mens warehouse, soft and comfortable pliable black leather shoes…

For me it is not so much the brand but being able to get the width I need which, depending on the manufacturer, can vary from 4E to 6E. Then those that make the cut are evaluated for quality, materials, and price. This regardless of the style of footwear.
