Congratulations !!! Hopefully you go to basic in the fall when it is cooler. In my opinion, summer and winter depending on where you are at are the worse times to go. God Bless !!! Smile

I was at Ft Leonard Wood right in the middle of Desert Storm. If I were doing it again, I’d show up to basic with nothing. I’d be standing at shakedown with nothing but a toothbrush. No need to hold up to the side at arm’s length any more than necessary.

Good for you!! Not sure about the Guard but Div Bands used to also perform security detail for Divisional Command....at least 10th MTN band did

I showed up for Basic at Ft. Lewis and had nothing but my wallet, comb and the clothes on my back.
