I’m looking for a heated jacket for a little extra warmth and I’m interested in a battery version for me and a 12v plug in version for my wife in the side by side ATV.

I see Milwaukee and a couple others, any recommendations.

I have following the development of heated gear since it is somewhat chilly here in the Yoop.
Some of it looks promising but battery life, recharge times, and costs have put me off. I am also concerned about durability and how the gear would stand up to washing.
I looked at heated gloves first.

I have had the Milwaukee for about three seasons. it is great for standing around a jobsite. heat across the shoulders and upper torso, heated pockets to keep bare hands warm.

it you are working, it is a little too warm.

batteries last about 4 hours on high, low heat maybe 8 hours. one battery will not recharge, just ordered more.

the newer ones have a liner that can be worn without the shell and suppose to be better, more expensive.

I understand Ryobi and dewalt also make a good version, just second hand knowledge though.

as always, YMMV, $150-$200 coat, colors available, red, black and camo.

google is your BFF.

I have the Milwaukee one. Used it a couple times, it keeps you warm, batteries last a reasonable amount of time. No good for working, gets too hot. Mostly sits in my closet, will likely end up being used for Redskins games. This is it's perfect use, sitting on sidelines watching your kid play ball, or attending pro/college ball games.

I only own mine because it was free with promotion for another Milwaukee tool I had already planned to buy anyways.

Back when I was heavy into MC touring Gerbings was the main player. Still have a jacket liner and chaps. Never had any issue with them over a 10 year period.
They make a big difference. Used to ride extended distances down into the 40's.

My husband has the Milwaukee and loves it. He bought the 12v adapter so he can run it off the car while driving instead of using the battery.

It’s great on the motorcycle.

My wife is a horse trainer who works outside all day every day whatever the weather. She hates being cold and has battled it for years.

I got her this jacket for Christmas:

It's been a huge hit. The battery life will last all day, it has several different modes - so if it's getting too warm, just put it on low or turn it off - the plain down jacket works good, gloves that plug in and you can even connect your phone and re-charge it with the battery in the jacket. No complaints or downsides so far, they really put a lot of thought and testing into their jacket - it started as a kickstarter project.

Yeah, I've an anorak that runs off of 220V AC.

You don't want to sweat in that sucker, though.

Heated vest worn under a jacket may be all you need to keep body core warm. Should be cheaper than heated jacket.

I received a Makita heated jacket in a promotion. It is moderately warm, but heavy due to the batteries my type took.(14v drill type) a friend of mine has the Milwaukee and it’s batteries are much smaller. He likes it. Hope that helps.

In addition to their motorcycle clothing, Gerbings makes other heated garments powered by a smaller 5.7 volt (I think) battery. You might want to check them out.

My wife has a Milwaukee she likes. I got the recommendation from Sigforum. She had another brand we returned that did not put out much heat but I can't remember the name anymore.

Gerbing FTW!

I got mine for motorcycle wear. Goes underneath my jacket, like a nice thin long sleeve shirt. plugs into the battery and keeps me toasty on cold rides.
