Illinois legalized cannabis a few years ago.
There’s legal stores where you can buy cannabis from, and yes, you’re taxed on it.

There’s also some asshole still standing on a corner, selling “Dime bags and dub sacks” ($10 and $20 bags). He’s selling his shit (sometimes good weed, sometimes not, hell, sometimes even laced with something) tax free.
Well, there’s a “tax”. It’s all the violence that goes with selling dope on the corner. At least that’s how it’s going here in Chicago, other places may differ.
