He cannot go to school because he "may have been exposed to COVID". He and I are headed to the woods to check fence and do guy stuff.

As we packed the 4 wheeler, he came up to me. "GMan, I have questions about girls".

I looked over at my wife, son and DIL. They were smiling and waving. My wife came over and whispered "They have already taken care of the hard questions, teach him how to be a gentleman".

I just got set up.

Yes, yes you did. OTOH, you now have a perfect opportunity to be a major influence for good in his life.

How old is he?

I think you will be an outstanding example.

I do have an idea though. Let us submit 'suggested topics of discussion' When your wife and son ask how the talk went.

Respond with sigforum suggestions. You may never be set up like that again.

I appreciate the collective wisdom but this evolution will be entirely by Squatch. He had size 8.5 feet (mens sized),

Welcome to retirement!
Enjoy the day (s) with your grandson, teach him some cool stuff, hang out in the woods together!

I'd give anything to have my Dad around so he could hang out with my kids!

I am blessed. My Grandfathers did something similar with me and my cousins.

What a perfect excuse to dig out those old Playboy magazines from the drawer they've been resting in all these years!

Yes you did. Isn’t it great? Smile

Yesterday, I went to the store and brought two of my grandsons along. While there, I picked up some roses for grandma. The older grandson says “Daddy (my son) always gets roses for Mommy”.

I guess my kids were paying attention after all!

He fell and split open an eyebrow. He got stitches and is ready to go back.

Mom convinced him to go home and get clean clothes.

I'm waiting for him to come back.

Gotta love kids.

The lad is going to learn from someone. It may as well be from someone who loves him.
Set up? I don’t think so. You are being honored by someone who knows you, loves you and trusts you.
They’ve already padded a couple of corners for you. <grin>
Create some good memories and enjoy a few teachable moments.

"Why do girls make me feel funny?"

"Anyone in particular?"

(Blushes) "Yes"

"Your Grandma and I have been together for about 50 years. She still makes me feel funny."

We'll harvest a couple of rabbits or squirrel for supper. He has his Henry. Things are right in the world.

I wish I could have had some of those conversations with my grandpa.

When I read threads like this I often think...I can't wait to be a grandpa.

Good on you.
