Anyone with experience with a foot massager?
I had originally looked at foot spas but found that the medical community felt there were more cons than pros for type II diabetics and that a heated shiatsu foot massager would be much preferable. So as part of my research thought I'd tap the great brain trust here. Big Grin

Anyone own or use such a device? Recommendations and thoughts?

My dad used to have one in the 80s that vibrated and heated up. It was made of hard plastic and shaped to fit your arches. That was the only foot massager that ever actually worked. I tried the ones that you fill with water and they don't really do anything for your feet.

Those are the "spa" type not recommended.

I have one and love it! Don't get me wrong, it is not as good as a person massaging, but it feels good. Heat if I want it, a timer up to 30 minutes, roller speed adjustment, and the air pillow compression from light, medium, and heavy.

This is the one I have. I got it at Walmart last November and still going strong.

I bought this one for my wife’s birthday and she really enjoys it. I like it, too.

We have This for if your feet are sore from a day of work and it does a great job at massaging! Massaging would be its only purpose as it would not be something for blood flow if that what was needed.

Not heated, but I've been using this daily for the past 14 years or so.

I was going through a lot of foot pain at the end of the day. Caused by my weight, more than anything. Went with the Miko Shiatsu. For the money, I was very impressed! I was worried it wouldn’t be intense, but I had to work up to the high setting. Can’t compare it to anything else, but I had no regrets.

A massage chair that I had included a heated foot massager.

I liked it.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Don't know anything about the businesses, but my wife manually massages my feet, and it's the most wonderful feeling. If you can find a place that does just manual massage without any unnecessary extras, I don't think any machine can beat that.

^^^ On occasion, happy endings can also result. Smile

I don't have experience as to whether that would beat any machine, but it's probably on a case by case basis.

Doc, I've no doubt a professional would trump any machine but circumstances here heavily favor in home attention which means, for me, a machine.

You're indeed blessed to have a willing, attentive, talented spouse!

Not exactly, but I have had a couple of professional pedicures that did some very pleasant massaging. I enjoyed it.
