Go ahead punk, make my day |
My MacMini 2010 was able to go up to High Sierra OS but it can't do the latest version. And they still support older OS for awhile. Honestly, if you aren't using them for every RAM intensive things, a Mac can last you a long long time.

Depending on what 2009 model it is, either Mavericks or High Sierra is the highest supported. Mavericks is no longer supported with security updates, High Sierra is supported until September 2020. Currently, Apple supports the latest version of the OS (with security updates) plus the next two older versions. 3 years for the latest version, 2 years for the next oldest, and 1 year for the one after that, on a rolling basis. When in doubt, mumble

Thanks Henryaz. Doesn't seem like she needs to make a move for a while yet.

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
In the last 60days I've setup new iPhones, new Android phones, a Windows desktop, an Apple laptop, a Windows server, and a little Linux server, with a few migrations of old data having to be moved over too. All went as easily as the rest, only differently, and not even very differently (Linux aside). Potato potatoe.

Get my pies outta the oven! |
It looks like it's an early 2009 model iMac and it's running OSX 10.11, and that looks like it's as far as it can go.
