AglifterIs anyone still actively competing in strongman on here?
My neurologist has suggested that I take up weightlifting again.
I will never be competitive unless there is a gimped up masters division.
However, the spread of CrossFit and the lighter weights I’ll be working with, seems to have opened more options for suppliers.
Some of them, appear to be marketing gimmicks not meant for actual use - chrome and fern land seems to have invaded “strongman”
All I’m looking for is some sandbags. We used to use military duffel bags but not the shape I want. (Ironmind makes them, but - and this is painful - it seems like there may be better options.)
Ideally, I’d just like about a 100-150# spherical one for throws/overhead and something about spherical and 200 for lifts and carry.
Will probably go to 250 eventually/maybe 300. Not sure. Will see what my knee can take.

GraniteguyYou sound like you have some experience from lifting in the past. Just a suggestion - start back with standard weights and cables and slowly work your way back into the cross-fit exercises. Build up the stabilizer muscles around your knees.
A have a few sandbags from REP fitness. Very durable over the past 3-4 years. Link below. Good luck.

chongosuerteMy gym has Rogue round ones, up to 150#. They work well.
I have a 50# long one that I use in my garage gym from Rogue as well.

Aglifter@Graniteguy I was a powerlifter for Texas A&M, and then a strongman competitor, back in the old NASS days.
