I have a friend who builds 60kw generators if that is big enough?

He said 60kw prime, 72kw stand-by 3-phase.....whatever that means? Confused

United Rentals Power and HVAC has quite a few used ones located around the country.
My store just sold a 60KW with Cummins @ 5800 hrs. for $19K.
It was serviced/ load Banked for 6 hrs. and in excellent shape, I know because I'm the one who got it ready!

Many CAT dealers also sell/rent generators including very large ones. Your friend may want to call his local dealer and ask. They keep the nationwide inventory on line.

You could also ask these guys who have this…

EDIT——-

Sorry I read 750kW… Here’s one that may work for you

He should still call his local CAT dealer

SDMO owned by Kohler. They make a full range of power generators. I have a 40 KW powered by a John Deere diesel engine and it is absolutely reliable.

I'm not sure the exact question. You can buy one new or used from a variety of sources literally anyone in the large industrial gen set market. Cat, Kolher, MQ to name a few. With distributors everywhere in the US> I'm guessing you could have one by next week in most parts of the country. Is there something specific he needs that would suggest you need to 'ask around'?

I do. I’m delivering a 50 KW Wacker Neuson this week. Email is in my profile if you’d like to get pricing. Great units, ridiculously quiet.

They could maybe get one in a week or so pre Chinaflu. Wacker, MQ, Doosan all a couple months out minimum right now.

Might have some high hours but check the local rental yards. Not sure what they do with theirs once they are full depreciated. They might be interested in selling one.

BRL, I sent an email. It may make sense for us, as well, if they aren’t too involved to rent out, so we could have one on hand for our use when needed.

I'm not sure how far their service area is, but this is the company I've used in the past www.kge.com they rent just about any size you can imagine.

The issue is getting one, when needed. We’re thinking about having one in a rental pool, so that we can be sure to have it when we need it.
