... I "built" my Christmas tree today.

Nothing makes a woodworking project smell good like cutting pieces out of a bourbon barrel stave. Smile

i like it.
I agree with the to early Statement. Mom and Dad never put up any Christmas decoration until the first day after Thanksgiving and i have followed their lead in our house.
This year we will be decorating the Sunday after Thanksgiving. As we are hosting Thanksgiving with 3 grandkids under 2 years old.On Saturday the 30th .
Thought we would let the mom and dads teach the kids that the decorations are not toys

I put the lights up two weeks ago. My wife really loves Christmas. It was also a nice day, so it beat putting up lights in the cold.

I still have some more to go, but for the most part they are done.

The Festivus Pole is up early this year. But only by virtue of never taking it down.

My father's birthday is Christmas Eve. Every year when our kids were little we would come home from his birthday dinner and once the kids were in bed and asleep, we would START to decorate. That meant putting up the live tree we had for Santa on the front porch, lights, ornaments, lights on the front of the house, presents from the attic and placed around the Tree... Nuts.

Going up next week here, but I'm also one that likes to leave them up until about January 5th or 6th.

Traditionally we always put up the lights outside on Black Friday (after getting our tree) or that weekend but I was informed by The Boss that since Thanksgiving falls later this year that I was to start this past weekend.

Love it, vthoky. There are ones that you can swirl to give a 3-D effect. Tried to get one last year

Interesting!

I've got some small motors around... I could put one on that and make it spin... Wink
