I'm not sure that servicing a modern vehicle can be considered an actual tune up. We service many vintage Porsche cars that get a tune up. It often involves adjusting fuel and ignition systems. Seems to me, with a modern car, it's just scheduled maintenance or repair/replacement of something malfunctioning, often the cause is lack of maintenance. I do the maintenance on my newer vehicles as the manufacturer recommends. Seem to be working so far.

Here is a shot of the Spark Plugs and boots I just pulled from a 2016 Ford Expedition EL 3.5L Twin Turbo. I try to do everything at about half the intervals the manufacturer calls for. Ford calls for 100k. I had a slight miss. Factory gap .032 all had expanded out quite a bit and were pretty carbon covered though that is somewhat normal with a GDI Turbo motor. There was no issue getting them out and the boots don't seem to out of whack. Biggest concern is the gap expansion. I certainly would not have wanted them in there another 50k miles. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!
