I need to buy travel insurance for one person for an overseas trips lasting 7 weeks from July to Sept.

Any recommendations on where to look, what to get in coverage, etc? I started w/ AAA, and their quotes start at $414.

Also, I don't understand what their deposit dates mean, so I just went w/ today's date to start to return flight date.

As SigLaw has said try insuremytrip.com.
This is who we have used several times in the past for travel insurance for the cruises we have gone on.

I too have gotten my overseas travel insurance through insuremytrip.com.

Take the time to read the details closely of each policy before selecting one.

I have used Seven Corners on multiple trips and been pleased. From personal experience, What ever you do, make sure medical repatriation is included. It’s worth it’s weight in gold if you need it.

The plans I've looked at so far, medical care & evacuation are included as part of travel insurance.

Destination is Western Europe, mostly in France.

We have used Travel Guard on multiple occasions and think very highly of their offerings.

My favorite broker for travel insurance is squaremouth.com. Very easy interface, plenty of information, easy to pick and purchase a policy with or without riders.

I’ve been using Global Rescue for the past 4 years. They have a variety of insurance related services including general travel. I’ve had to make one claim due to an injury that ended a trip and they were extremely easy to work with.

Medical evacuation insurance is not all the same.

I would think about getting a separate policy.

It is short money and I would not do a major trip without it if you are anywhere near a third world country or a hard to get to place, like Alaska, Antarctica etc.
