Several officers down in Eastern Kentucky
I heard through people I know on the job two officers have been killed, a third not looking good, a Sheriffs K9 killed, and several other first responders seriously injured to include EMS trying to treat the wounded.

KSP SRT took the shooter into custody.

Sad night in the Commonwealth

"That area of Allen, in the area of U.S. 23 and state Route 1428, is closed off for miles around. The sheriff said he was hoping for a peaceful resolution to the situation soon."

With that many officers down, I think we've blown past a peaceful resolution.

Serving a warrant. That's got to be one of the most perilous tasks. God bless those families.

The shooter should never make it into custody.

Prayers for the officers and their families.

Always sorry to read about these events. This one seems like a particularly bad one. Frown My best to the blue line, the first responders, and all the families.

Man I hate to hear this. I also hate that this seems to be becoming a very common occurrence in today's America. Something needs to change....

Sucks big time

Serving warrants sucks...
I served many a warrants in my day, both day and night and they all sucked.

According to Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt, deputies were attempting to serve a court-issued warrant in a domestic violence situation when they came under fire.

Sounds like the suspect was waiting for them. Something must have tipped them off.

One of my co-workers texted me about this last night. He was an EMT and police officer in Prestonsburg. He knows 3 of the EMT's who were shot. I may get more news throughout the day from him, he may be going up there to visit the families.

Why the hell is he in jail? He shot 6-7 officers. MFer like that never gets the opportunity to surrender. Like Polk County, FL sheriff said, we shot the police officer killer 120 times because that's all the ammo we had.
