Just up the road a piece.

Most of us don't know what we're in for.

Good for WI, they will love it.

Texas bbq sangwhiches and home made chips and a $.79 drink, what’s not to love.

This is what impresses me the most. https://buc-ees.com/careers/ In my area, this is practically a fortune.

One opened up last year in Sevierville, TN. (I-40 exit 407) Quite an impressive place. The food is, as far as I can tell, made "in-house," with meat being cooked and cut on-site and openly. I actually found the traffic to get in and out, crowds and noise a little overwhelming. At the time of my visit (August '23), it had only been open about a week, so perhaps some of the luster will have worn off.

About an hour and half from me. Should make a nice motorcycle road trip this summer once it's open.

They're good paying jobs and provide hundreds of jobs when you factor in the temporary and permanent jobs a Buc-ee's brings to an area. Also brings a lot of traffic but you can't have growth without some trade offs.

In my many travels, Buc-ee's are always a goal of mine to stop at. The clean bathrooms and abundance of fuel points make it an easy decision to stop there, especially when the wife and kid are with me. I'm less picky when I'm by myself.

In Texas, about half of the locations have the option of ethanol free gas. I wonder if the new one in WI will? Having gas ethanol free options at gas stations other than marinas is nice for homeowners for their small engine equipment (e.g. weedeaters).

What I really appreciate for road trips is the wall of jerky and the aisles of snacks. They're pricey but the quality is worth it.

I'm blessed with two Top 10 BBQ joints easily available so Buc-ee's BBQ sandwiches don't do much for me, but I can see why it's a big draw in other parts of the country.

I use the 'almost' original Texas sized Bucee's in Luling routinely when I visit the family in San Antonio and I can guarantee you that after all these years the luster is still there. You can hardly get into the place, and now that they've actually built a bigger Bucees right next to it, it can only get more worse!

We have a micro Bucees (Port Lavaca) right down the road and its even packed, and its no where near a major highway. The pricing is consistent with the big stores and the gas is usually the best and least expensive.

Texas rawks!

It has big hype but is quite fun. We hit our first Bucees on the way back from the bourbon trail in KY.

Damn. 305 miles from MQT, so too far for a motorcycle ride. Maybe they will open one in Green Bay. Thats rideable.

One just opened on I-25 in Colorado, between Loveland and Longmont. Haven’t stopped. Probably will one day.

We've been to a couple of them when we wintered in Destin FL. Unbelievable.

Very competitive fuel prices. Corn-free gas with a choice of octane ratings. Decent food, actually excellent for gas station / convenience store venues. Spotless clean restrooms.

What's not to like?

That's just jealousy talking, lol. We are getting one in my county as well. I remember when the county I am living in got our first Walmart. Everyone would say to one another, have you been to the new Walmart yet? Kind of funny how we react to stores.

Have one about 30 minutes away.
I hit is up and get 20 gallons of ethanol free in the early spring to cover my mowing and power washing needs for the spring and summer.
Grab some brisket and a drink.

Usually stop on the way back from the cabin for a fill up, brisket sandwich, and drink.

I may try to get one of those fire pit grills they sell this year.

Buc-ee's originated in Texas and I like them, but it now has a competitor in Texas called The Texan which has 15 locations so far. Lots of pumps, better gas prices, restrooms just as clean, huge c-store, and better restaurant.

The last 2 times I drove to San Antonio I stopped at the Texan in Schulenberg rather than Buc-ee's in Luling. It's about 42 miles closer to Houston which makes it just about the halfway point between my house and the River Walk.

Yeah, but does “The Texan” have a cute beaver? Asking for a friend.

I am glad that you like Buc ees. Different strokes for different folks. An upscale shooting range and more nice restaurants{white tablecloth type} would be exciting for me.
They are putting teh finishing touches on a Buc-ee within five miles of my so I will probably visit.
