A friend of mine texted me the other day about this and I didn't believe him until I went to Walmart and my local big supermarket chain (Giant) last night. I wanted to make an Italian cheesecake for a dinner tonight with friends and it calls for 24 oz of cream cheese and 24 oz of ricotta.
There is NOT A LICK of cream cheese or ricotta to be found at either store! WTF? Just big holes on the shelves.
Is this all made in like one location that had to shut down or something? Finally found what I was looking for at Target of all places
A local mom & pop bakery that specializes in mini cheesecakes and owned and run by a USMC vet and his wife called Semper Pie just announced that they are forced to cancel all their holiday orders because they cannot source any cream cheese and have been driving around trying to find it anywhere they can. This sucks as they opened just before the pandemic started and this may put them out of business.

Must be a regional thing. I've read reports about shortages, even read they were paying people not to buy their products, but we went to two different stores last night (Fred Meyer and Safeway) and they were fully stocked as usual.

Yep, my wife told me about it. Stuff going around about trying to dissuade people from making cheesecake this holiday, so as not to exacerbate the shortage.

Local Safeway last Saturday, I was prepared for the empty shelf, but there was plenty of Philadelphia Brand and their house brand, no shortage here. Happy to be able to make several of our family holiday recipes that call for it.

Must be regional,I just bought a 3lb tub at Costco two days ago. I believe they had a several hundred pounds in its normal place. They also had 3lb blocks available.

Tomorrow, it'll be something else, and if we're lucky, that something else will be a product used by a broad spectrum. The more people who are personally and directly impacted by this COVID horse shit and President Two Scoops' ineptitude, the better.
It needs to happen every day for months on end. People need to get absolutely worn out from this crap.
We were in NC for Thanksgiving. Tried to find the cream cheese and could not, had to ask an employee. He told me they had been out, but was able to find us a small tub.
Back in FL in early December and Publix had some, but it was very little. There was a 2 item limit for quite some time.

I thought Brandon said he had saved Christmas from the supply chain issues! Already doing the touchdown dance over there at the WH.
