VDH: Victor Davis Hanson God bless America.

Fire begets Fire |
I believe the first three words of the entire article give a hint as to whom. "Pacifism is a shifty doctrine under which a man accepts the benefits of the social group without being willing to pay - and claims a halo for his dishonesty." ~Robert A. Heinlein

It depends on what we do with VDH's BOLO for more insanity: I propose we do the latter and have zero tolerance for the former Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

I respect and admire Hanson, but, really, his end-of-the-world predictions about the lead-up to November are over the top. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

His Royal Hiney |
What he says isn't really earth-shaking. It's like you see the dark clouds just rolling in, feel a few raindrops, then proclaim, "I predict we're going to get wet." We all know what's happening at the Southern border, 40-year high inflation, Russia invading Ukraine, Politicians getting photo ops in Ukraine, high gas prices, shortage of baby formula, and the SCOTUS leaked opinion. The latest event, the SCOTUS leaked opinion, shows to what lengths the leftist liberals will do to either whip people into submission or provide cover for any shenanigans they're planning for the midterm elections. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I agree that the article is too dark. It ignores some very significant developments that he refers to only tangentially: "When revolutionaries undermine the system, earn the antipathy of the people, and face looming disaster at the polls, it is then they prove most dangerous — as we shall see over the next few months." The radical Leftists have indeed earned the antipathy of the people. Earlier in the essay he refers to the "push back" against them. He really needed to bring these ideas more forward in the essay. (For all we know, he might have done so only to have an editor trim for length.) Just for one example-- and there are many-- look at the way enraged parents have risen up and fired entire woke school boards, raking CRT out of the curricula along with many twisted "sex ed" inclusions. There is push back, and there will be more. He also says that they face "looming disaster" at the polls. So it's not like he is whimpering in surrender, or suggesting that they will be victorious. I think he might be right-- and to me this is the value of the essay-- that their desperation and evil exceeds what we have seen so far. We need to be ready to imagine the unimaginable, and confront it. Sorry to refer to this again, but what if the Ministry of Truth-- I mean "Disinformation"-- acquires the legal clout to prosecute what it deems "offences" as felonies? Far fetched? What counts as "far fetched" anymore? So, while I agree that the article is too dark and ignores strengthening, positive, counterdevelopments, his cautionary words are valuable. It is never good to be "surprised." ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

Get my pies outta the oven! |
When this puppet of a president is talking about food shortages openly now, I believe him. So now we are stocking up on several months worth of canned, dry food, UHT milk, cereal etc. Never thought I’d see rationing and food shortages like the USSR in my own country. The Democrats MUST PAY DEARLY in November. Fuck these people

"It depends on what we do with VDH's BOLO for more insanity: Constantly express overt fear, act defeated, give up like children. Follow Para's advice leading up to the 2020 election." I think that is exactly right. ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

I’ve seen some scribbles on the wall and have an opinion as to what could happen. I’m probably horribly wrong but that’s ok. I’m still prepared to take care of me and mine come what may. We’ll survive or we won’t. Not gonna ruin today with worry about tomorrow.
