Will have some temporary ( a few months) outdoor storage of a pristine sports car, 2010 Camarillo 2ss <10k miles on it. Wife wants to put a premium car cover on it. I’m thinking it’ll do as much harm as good. Not going to buy an $800+ inflatable touch less car storage solution. Are the covers really a good idea? I haven’t used one since the crappy trees on Coronado kept dropping sap on my pickup. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Never heard that. (or seen mice need any help getting into a car) _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

You want one that breathable, not the plastic covers, or is at least vented. For any mice, they don't care if it's covered or not, covers don't entice them, nice fresh rubber and plastic wire are what they want, hang a poot-pourri bag filled with moth balls below and in the engine compartment, maybe under the dash. Anywhere mice would go, cap the mufflers up, they make wash plugs for 4 wheelers and off road motorcycles, cover up any air filter entrance and put moth balls on the engine cover.

I store a car in a commercial enthusiast garage. Turns out I need a cover there! But, it is secure, alarmed, and easy in and out. Suggest checking the enthusiast groups in your QTH for locations. Somebody posted a few days ago about some kind of car enclosure that resembles a giant plastic bubble. Something like that is what you want. Car covers trap moisture and can abrade the paint.

Short term storage facility. Well worth the cost. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

Clean the vehicle to the enth degree and place a 'new', clean, Covercraft WeatherShield cover over it 'correctly' for a short period of time, and you should be fine. I would not recommend longer term storage of a car with a car cover though. As noted by others, mice or rat problems are not created or made worse with a car cover. Best solution would to find a local 'indoor' storage facility and rent a spot for your car. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. A good, custom, breathable, cover can be expensive. Not to mention you may have to wait a few good weeks. ...You, higher mammal. Can you read? ....There's nothing sexier than a well worn, functional Sig!
