pbramlettI’ve seen two actual fireball meteors. One I had just taken off from John Tune airport in west Nashville. Climbing through 4000 ft this fireball came from behind me heading south same direction as I was flying. It really startled me but once I realized what it was and that I wasn’t taking fire or on fire it was cool.
The other I was driving home past midnight and the sky got really bright and I watched it break up. Cool stuff

46and2IIRC, the Godzilla egg that caused the famous Meteor Crater in Arizona (mile wide, half mile deep or some shit), the egg/meteor was the size of a VW beetle when it hit the Earth's surface and was traveling at about 17,000mph. Small bullet, big assed hole in the ground.

Obviously it was a Kaiju scout.
I learned about these in the Documentary entitled
Pacific Rim, it even has Ambassador Rihanna from Barbados in it. Solid science. Good stuff, that.

chongosuerteI saw one when I was 9 or so. I was outside walking on our long driveway at night and one came down, lighting the entire area up brighter than the fullest moon I've ever seen. It was almost as bright as daylight. I'll never forget that.

I've seen lots of them, but never one large or close enough to be called a fireball.
By the power vested in me, by mouse and keyboard, I now pronounce thee... Fireball.
Okay, I laughed out loud.
I'm out of here. Someone call me a taxi.
That was funny.

cne32507It looked like it was headed for NAS Pensacola (Mainside), which is within sight. But the Blue Angels were flying the next day, so....
