I need a media converter to convert both audio and video files between formats. Would prefer to do it locally on a Windows 10 PC as I'll be converting a whole bunch of files. I'm not averse to paying a few bucks for one, but since I don't do this sort of thing very often, I'd prefer not to sink a bunch of coin into it.

Anyone have any recommendations??

Try Handbrake, it's one of the most popular & free video converters:

dbPoweramp has been a great program - I have used many of their apps.
Not free but not expensive either - worth it, IMO.

The nice thing is you can try them out to see if they operate how you want them to.
