I read Gustofers post to my wife. She asked where would they get gas. Which begs the question when will they outlaw the sale of gas? How about all the jobs lost and businesses closed when they do that?

I heard on the radio this morning that Washington, always eager to match California's wackiness, is doing the same thing. Effective 2030.

Heard that on the news today. What I'm curious about, is if and when they implement this, will they ticket out of staters driving through?

This is all just idiocy. There's coal trains going through town here every day, and every time I see one I say, "There goes another load of electric vehicle fuel".

Fookin' morons.

AFAIK it's a ban on sales of new ICE vehicles, not possession or use. At least not in this particular bill, that could be coming later though I suppose.

The coal train thing is an interesting point too. That's also a hot button both here and in Washington. Cities along the lower Columbia have been trying to ban rail shipments of oil, and oil storage facilities, ever since an oil tank car derailed, burned, and made a huge mess further back up the river a few years ago. Portland just this week enacted a ban on expansion of oil facilities in its port area. Not shutting them down mind you, `cuz, you know, they bring in $$$$. I guess even the Green religion takes a back seat to revenue generation, sometimes.

Fookin' hypocrits.

California: we don't want the rest of you visiting our state.

Rest of us: we're good with that.

What if... what if you bottled the exhaust from the tailpipe, and sold it to vape manufacturers as an additive marketed to smokers registered as democratic voters. That could help turn the tide back to common sense, esp if the democrats stopped showing up for work. Uh, wait a minute.

BTW, I heard that to service an EV, you need to take them into the dealer (maybe only applicable to tesla?). If ICE goes away, will there be enough service stations to support all the EVs? All the ICE shops get converted to "tesla" shops?

It goes without saying, California, the land of fruit and nuts. California has the craziest stupid people in the union.

Can someone explain why people are so attracted to CA? Crazy laws which enable the criminals. CARB so you can't have any fun with your cars. Everything costs more.

What's the appeal?

Politically it sucks. And that enables undesired societal and cultural trends.

But the land is good. The weather is nice. I can visit lakes, rivers, coast or snow. Lack of pests like mosquitoes and such. I don’t feel like nature is trying to kill me. I’ve lived in other areas and environmentally it’s tough to beat here.

It’s the people that suck, but the place is nice.

Other than the people, the politicians, the politics, the cost of living, the taxes, fines and fees, it's a great place.

I’m not sure if you are correct, or if CA has the stupidest crazy people in the union, but I’m sure it must be one or the other. The worst part is they vote. Frown

If I was an oil company I would be looking to diversify. We should expect to see a large decrease in exploration and you can forget about modernizing or building any more refineries. Either way we are screwed. Buy a car you can't afford or pay shit ton for fuel in the future.
