I recently moved from MD to NC. My 20 year old sofa didn’t survive the trip without frame damage and I ran into another issue. My new home is from 1957. The doorway into the living room is 29” and short enough the couch wouldn’t have fit.

I am single and my son is only there on rare weekend visits, It doesn’t need to be fancy, just functional. I’ve been looking online at modular sofas and sectionals but from what I’ve heard most of them are crap and don’t hold up.

I’m hoping someone has had some experience especially with living room seating or modular furniture that will fit narrow doorways they’d be willing to share, good or bad. I’m currently using two folding camp chairs. Thanks in advance. Buddy

Reports are that Lovesac seating is good. Don't know their pricing. You can buy as much or as little as needed.

An oversize chair and matching ottoman may work better than a sofa. We live in a 1940s neigborhood with all duplexes across the street and this is a common problem. Beds are even worse.

Love Sac s expensive. A 2 seat love seat size is over $2,100.

Modular sofas might be your best bet since they can be taken apart and are super versatile. Brands like Lovesac get good reviews for being comfy and durable, plus they fit through tight spaces

We believe arming our fellow Americans – both physically and philosophically – helps them fulfill our Founding Fathers' intent with the Second Amendment: To serve as a check on state power.

Shop around and see how close you are. You may be able to get an extra couple of inches by removing the door casing. It’s not that big of a deal if it does what you need.
