I've noticed slight pixelization occurring several times a night for the last few weeks. "If Gun Control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome" - Cam Edwards

I don't use satellites, just OTA. I'm like 50 miles from the transmitting antennas, so reception is always a little spotty. Some channels come in better than others. It's also somewhat dependent on time of day. But for the last month or so I've seen something of a change in the pattern. Channels that used to be pretty iffy coming in better and more reliably than they used to, and channels that have always been at least OK are worse.

Perhaps the wind has shifted your directional antenna?

Rain affects it, fog affects it , my $19.00 desk lamp affects it, traffic affects it, Interior wall affect reception. The living room tv reception differs from the bed room reception, ( 45 feet away) Both on rabbit ears, both 15 feet above ground. All this progress will be the death of me. If the tv stations are not working on the uplink they are adjusting the down link, Then there is maintenance too the broadcast antenna. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. The last few weeks has been more of an issue than issues before. It is weather or equipment issues. Access to the the repeater can be a problem this time of year. But the satellite signal isn't usually effected. That has been minor compared to the ota signal though. Thanks guys. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Nope, indoor antenna on my end. Actually I suspect it's mostly just seasonal weather changes causing it. I've only been here for 15 months now, so it's entirely possible that what I've been seeing is a normal winter pattern.
I had to relocate my antenna a few months ago. I've got a 3-way table lamp sitting a few feet from where I originally had the antenna. When the bulb in it failed I replaced it with an LED bulb. It turned out the LED bulb emits RF noise that seriously screwed with the antenna reception.

NextGen is the biggest change to broadcast TV's technical standards since 2009, when stations shut down the analog signals that they'd been transmitting since the 1940s and transitioned fully to digital. After the changeover a decade and a half ago, viewers had to buy a new TV or get a converter box. google search

Yup. unintentional emitters are a bigger problem than most people realize. A snapshot with a spectrum analyzer shows all kinds of noise. LED lights, CFL's, small switching power supplies, network equipment, electronics that goes with solar panels, noise from power lines, light dimmers. It all adds up. .

None of those things are issues for me. Our community is experiencing ota issues. Something else is causing it. "Practice like you want to play in the game"
